Startup founders, young or industry veterans, are entering the market with fresh ideas and novel ways to tackle issues in a more efficient manner, leveraging new technologies. This pushes incumbents to innovate, restructure and adapt to survive.
How will it evolve? We are likely to see a period of consolidation because there are too many companies going after the same customers. Some are doing so in an unprofitable way and in many segments, it is not an efficient market structure. The strongest – whether these are incumbents or newcomers – will prevail.”
